Empathica to Support Spring for Kids’ Gala in Toronto

Event proceeds will be used to help protect, rescue and heal children who are victims of online exploitation.

Toronto, Ontario, Canada – May 20, 2011 – Empathica Inc., a leading provider of Customer Experience Management (CEM) solutions to more than 200 of the world’s most respected brands, announced today its support of the Spring for Kids’ Gala at the Gardiner Ceramic Museum in Toronto on May 26. The event supports the Kids Internet Safety Alliance (Kinsa), which helps protect, rescue and heal children who are victims of online exploitation.

“The Internet has made the world a very small place,” said Paul Gillespie, President and CEO, Kinsa. “The incredible support that Kinsa is receiving at this event will allow us to keep more children safe on the Internet and also help those children who have been abused. Our efforts to date have rescued 61 children around the world, including 10 in Canada.”

The funds raised from the Gala will fund Kinsa programs like expert training for law enforcement officers in developing countries to find and rescue children who are victims of abuse. Kinsa also offers programs to educate kids and parents on how to stay safe online, as well as provides support to organizations like the Gatehouse and the Hospital for Sick Children, which offers specialized treatment to help heal child victims of abuse.

“Empathica is honored to support Kinsa and its mission to protect children from abuse in Canada and around the world,” said Bruce Warren, Empathica Vice President of Marketing. “As a company, we value community initiatives like Spring for Kids, which promote a safe, healthy environment.”

Last year Empathica was named one of the 50 Most Engaged Workplaces in North America, having executed several corporate social responsibility initiatives. Empathica employees are involved in a wide range of charitable causes, from growing mustaches to raise funds for prostate cancer, to tree planting to foster a better environment and toy drives to benefit underprivileged children.

Hosted by chef Jamie Kennedy, with Seamus O’Reagan of Canada AM serving as the master of ceremonies, the Spring for Kids Gala will feature a night of entertainment and a live auction.
